Meet The Artist:
My name is Phoebe Hall, a self-taught artist located in the South of England. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, growing up in a creative family. I mainly specialise in pen and pencil work with a subject matter of portraiture. I find control in the two mediums. One of my favourite and most commonly used techniques is stippling. I love the textured look and the depth you can create with it, more specifically the life it can bring to a face, all through the use of repetitive and thought out dots. I like that it can be used in a sharp or soft way and I enjoy building tone with dots or harsh lines. It's incredibly time consuming, though when it starts to come together, it's beyond rewarding.
Choosing not to go to Uni for art, I continued my studies independently. I love realism, but I've also always been drawn to distortion and surrealism. In GCSE and A-Level, I chose to study Miles Johnston. He's continued to be one of my favourite artists, as well as Rostislaw Tsarenko and Ioana Pioaru. I love their use of pen and pencil, nature and the 'weird' subject matter that they portray. I feel very inspired by their work and want to channel this inspiration into something of my own. As someone that likes to be outside a lot, I also admire the themes of nature, specifically soft florals, leaves and branches.
I wanted a place to showcase all of my art, the things that I'm working on and the style that I'm exploring. Over a few years, I grew a following of 55K on Tiktok, and currently offer original prints and pet commissions. My goal is to continue this journey and I'd like for you to follow along.
